Classic Formality
The owners were keen gardeners and loved plants but the garden lacked structure and direction.
The brief was to have at least one nice seating area, water, appropriate planting with as much seasonal interest as possible, some lawn and should accommodate the owners enthusiastic little dogs.
The changes:
The new design has somewhere near the house to sit and eat, it’s a cool shady area and this is reflected in the choice of plants, there’s a small pool with a gentle bubble fountain.
Trellis partially screens the next area of the garden which has a lawn with a path so you can always keep your feet dry.
The path to the final part of the garden is off-set so it can’t be seen immediately,
It’s a lovely little area concealed from it’s surroundings with a chunky timber pergola a raised water feature with seating around the edge for quiet contemplation.
The result:
Now there’s a journey through the garden, with places to sit and admire the plants and the dogs can be kept in the area near the house if necessary - they love the pond. |
